Defend Habeas
Alliance for Justice

Alliance for Justice has partnered with its own member organizations, such as the Center for Constitutional Rights and Physicians for Human Rights, as well as long-standing partners from the business world, such as Working Assets. The Restore Habeas Corpus organizational sign-on letter has enlisted yet even more allies from more than 70 groups committed to the cause of reinstating liberty.

AFJ has also had the opportunity to participate in a number of coalitions that are involved daily in securing human rights and civil liberties. The National Religious Coalition Against Torture, The Constitution Project, Amnesty International, ACLU, Open Society Institute, Human Rights First, Human Rights Watch, The Center For American Progress, and Public Citizen are just a few of the groups comprising this coalition's wide expertise and commitment.

"The Constitution of the United States is explicit that habeas corpus may be suspended only in time of rebellion or invasion. We are suffering neither of those alternatives at the present time. We have not been invaded, and there has not been a rebellion. That much is conceded."
--Senator Arlen Specter (R–PA)
